Cooking is a very vast field and it is not an easy work to do. There are so many different types of positions and different types of designations in the field of culinary and all the designations are different from others in their work. The sous chef is also a type of chefs.

Sous chef is also a very good job and it has a lot of scope in it. The Sous Chef is the direct subordinate of the executive chef and sous chef is second in command. The sous chef watches over the staff, and a sous chef mainly does all the hands-on work. All these duties are the job tasks of the sous chef.

There are two types of sous-chefs; one is who rapidly moves on to open its individual restaurants and becoming Chefs de Cuisine, and the other one is who stays as they are and favoring the rhythmic rigidity of the kitchen to the brilliant lights of chef fame. A sous chef has to perform a number of things that are involved in the job description of sous chef. He sees to a number of things. A sous chef plans manus and he also does the other things like this. A sous chef works out food and also labours costs. He plans the staff lists and he has to supervise all the activities of the cooks and of the other assistants.

He has to discuss all the food preparation issues with the executive chef and with the managers. He has to order food and kitchen supplies and other equipments. He has to show the techniques to the cooks and has to advise to the cooks on the cooking procedures. He also has to cook and prepare food. He has to divide food into different portions and add gravies and sauces and garnishes. A sous chef has to do a number of other things that are involved in his job. The job of a sous chef is not very bad. The job of a sous chef is also good enough. If a person is eligible then he can be a sous chef very easily because there are number of sous chef jobs available. The salary of a sous chef is also good. A sous chef can earn a handsome amount of money in a good restaurant or hotel.
